Connexion is a worship experience that is designed to deliver the age-old message of Christ in a new way. We know that God has created each of us to be uniquely different and this means that we each receive His word in our own way. We invite you to be open to receive God’s message through any combination of your God-given senses: sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste.
No, we didn’t spell “connexion” wrong so that we could make a cool cross out of the “X.” Connexion is a word that was used by John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, in the 1700’s to refer to “a system of inter-related congregations.” These congregations collectively became the Methodist denomination. The name seemed perfect for this service at AUMC where there a choice of worship styles yet we are inter-related congregations that worship one God.
